New director, command chief of Air National Guard hail from 1st Air Force

Lt. Gen. Stanley “Sid” Clarke III, the recently confirmed new director of the Air National Guard, is bringing his command chief with him to the Pentagon.

The Air Force on Jan. 8 announced that Chief Master Sgt. James Hotaling will be the new command chief of the Air National Guard. Hotaling had been command chief of North America Aerospace Command Region 1 – 1st Air Force at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla.,  since Jan. 2012, where Lt. Gen. Clarke had served since Aug. 2011.

Hotaling, a combat controller by training, had previously served as command chief of the 142d Fighter Wing in Portland, Ore.
