If you were hoping to test your mettle in the Air Force Marathon half marathon or 5K, you’re out of luck.

Airman 1st Class Casey Nation, shown here on the trail linking the Air Force Academy’s Cadet Chapel and the Visitor Center, earned a spot in the 2013 Air Force Marathon by raising $1,700 for the Air Force Enlisted Village. CLICK PHOTO TO READ MORE. (Air Force photo).
Both events have sold out, and the full marathon isn’t far behind, according to race officials.
With prices slated to increase from $95 to $105 on June 2, race director Rob Aguiar warns would-be runners to get registered while the getting is good.
“We constantly receive phone calls from people who want into our race after we close-out,” Aguiar said in a release. “I always, always warn people to register early.”
If you can’t run, but want to volunteer for the race volunteer registration is open at www.usafmarathon.com.
The Air Force Marathon will be held Sept. 21 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Participants start and finish at the National Air Force Museum, and spectators are welcome at the museum or in nearby downtown Fairborn.
