A well respected advocacy group for the families of service members who have died thanked Air Force Secretary nominee Deborah Lee James on Tuesday for her support. James is a board member of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, which was founded by Bonnie Carroll, whose husband Army Brig. Gen. Tom Carroll was killed in a military plane crash in 1992. Whether it was about old school leadership or just an airman playing a prank, this photo got airmen talking: An airman sent Air Force Times this “Read before entering!” sign that was posted near the section chief’s office for the 6th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh has arrived in China along with Pacific Air Forces commander Gen. Herbert “Hawk” Carlisle and Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force James Cody. Welsh’s visit marks the first time in 15 years that a chief of staff has visited China, according to an Air Force news release. He arrived in the country on Tuesday. On his first full day of his visit, Welsh met his Chinese counterpart: Gen.
