Somebody apparently thought it was a good idea to try to get more than 100 pounds of marijuana through the main gate of Offutt Air Base Force Base, Neb., last week.

Members of the 55th Security Forces Squadron were performing a routine security inspection of a commercial semi truck that tried to enter Gate One about noon on Wednesday when they came across suspicious packages, the Omaha World-Herald reported.

Security forces called in a military drug dog, which sniffed out 116 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana hidden in the sleeper area of the semi, the story said. The truck and the marijuana — which weighed 126 pounds — were confiscated.

Authorities don’t believe the marijuana was being delivered to anyone at Offutt. The semi was making a routine bottled water delivery, said Mike Sanders, assistant special agent in charge of the area’s DEA district, according to the World-Herald. The truck’s driver, Michael Quinlan, 46, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

The DEA and the the Air Force Office of Special Investigations are investigating.
